Indira Gandhi national Widow Pension Scheme 2024
Indira Gandhi national widow pension scheme is the central government’s scheme. Under this scheme the responsibility of giving pension is to the central government. Under this scheme the government gives 300 rupees per month to the widows.
Widow women who are aged between 40 to 59 years are eligible for applying. But every state of the country too has its own scheme like this. Few of them are mentioned below.

Uttar Pradesh widow pension scheme
Under the UP widow pension scheme, widow women of the state got 300 rupees per month. The benefit of the scheme goes to the widow women who are living the life below the poverty line or BPL.
Rajasthan Widow Pension Scheme
Under the Rajasthan widow pension scheme, widow women aged between 18 to 55 years got the 500 rupees per month. Rupees 750 per month for 60 years old widows. 1000 rupees are given to widow women of 75 years. Widows aged above 75 get 1500 rupees per month.
Maharashtra widow pension scheme
Under Maharashtra widow pension scheme financially weak widows get 600 rupees per month. This scheme is for only widow ladies aged between 18 to 65. If a widow woman’s family exceeds the 21,000 mark of family income. Then she is not eligible for this scheme. Widows which had more children than one will get the 900 rupees per month.
Bihar Widow Pension Scheme

Under new rules of widow pension in bihar now 500 rupees are given to widow ladies of the state. Which is very important for such a backward state like Bihar.

The very obvious reason for running such a programme like this is providing financial help to widow ladies. It is a tough task to raise a family without a husband. This type of scheme provides some help in it. schemes like this gives women a hope to stand themselves on their own feets.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying
- It’s very obvious that women are it’s beneficiaries.
- A woman’s age must be between 18 to 60 years.
- If a woman remarried after her husband’s death then she would not be able to take advantage of it.
