The national education mission was started in 2018. This is started to bring all education-related schemes under one roof. This means all education relation schemes before this, merged into it. The name of the merged schemes are:
- Saakshar Bharat
- Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
- Rashtriya Madhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan

The Central government allotted 385.72 billion rupees in the interim budget of 2019. Which are equal to 5.4 billion US Dollars.

Saakshar Bharat
Saakshar Bharat was started by that time’s Prime minister Mr. Manmohan Singh. This was implemented on 8 September 2009. The main target of this scheme was to increase the overall literacy rate and the literacy rate of women. This scheme is working under the school education department, human resource development ministry, Indian government.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was an initiative of the Indian government. This was started by that time’s prime minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and was implemented in the entire nation in 2001. This scheme ensures the education right of children aged between 6 to 14 years. This campaign made education easily available for every child of every class.

Rashtriya Madhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan
Rashtriya Madhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan is a brainchild of the human resource development ministry. This was started in the year 2009. This was started for the expenditure of secondary education in the public schools.

The aim of this is to improve the quality of secondary education. With this increasing the registration for secondary educations, increasing the education rate between the 15 to 16 aged children.
