Matsya Sampada Scheme 2024
There are a lot of possibilities in fish farming. For developing these opportunities Matsya sampada yojana was started. The prime minister launched this scheme last year through a video conference.
This scheme will be implemented for five years from 2020 to 2025. A very big part of the total population is connected with fisheries. And increasing their income is the main target of this scheme.

Targets of Matsya Sampada Scheme
- This scheme will make a present outline for retail outlets of fishes.
- Through this scheme, fisheries will become more developed and with this GDP and employment will also be increased.
- The aim of this scheme is to generate at least 55 lakhs of direct and indirect employment in the fisheries sector and increasing their income also.
- Increasing fishing products to 70 lakh tons till the year 2024-25.
- Taking income from the export of fisheries to 1 lakh crore till the year 2025.
- Decreasing the after-production damage from 20%-25% to 10%.

For Matsya sampada yojana government sanctioned a very big amount of 20,050 crore rupees. From which 12,340 crores are being spent on the sea and internal fishing areas and beneficiaries of water farming and the left amount of 7,710 crore rupees are being spent on the infrastructure for fisheries.
